We are now mid way through September, settling back into school and work routines and trying to hold onto the last bits of sun and warmth and flip flop wearing! We had a great summer, good weather, not a lot of boredom and a lovely holiday in France. Here are some pics
aaaaaahhhhhh what a summer it was! How was your summer? Did you travel? Stay home? Let me know your summer memories.

This month
- we should be basking in the sun, sadly we had 5 or 6 lovely days and now the rain has come back to torment us!
- we will be going camping (hopefully in the sun)
- we will be celebrating birthdays
- we will be thinking about our lovely Granfer who passed away two weeks ago and who we said goodbye to yesterday
- adjusting to a new normal without him around and supporting our family through the coming weeks
- I will be going away with my girlfriends for a weekend of talking, eating, walking and catching up by the sea, always a pleasure
- we will be finishing term 5 at school and having a week off
- we will be finishing Y2 SATS testing

Project life
I'm a little slow on this project, but I'm not going to let that worry me, it's supposed to be fun and I knew I wouldn't do every week. Here's a look at my page for Jan 1st!
More to follow, when they are done!

looking down
I just saw this post from Elizabeth Kartchner's blog about taking photos of her feet, and I thought 'I do this too!' so here are some of my feet photos, I love the stories they tell, all taken over the last 12 months.
Do you do take photos like this? I also take quite a lot of photographs of mine and other peoples shadows!

Get organised
I definitely need to do this with my drawers!
Saw this over at Heart Handmade UK and it originally was posted at I heart organizing, a lovely site full of great ideas.

Project Life
I love to see all the different people taking part in Project Life and it really inspires me to see their folders growing with pages from each week. I really don't think I have the time to commit to it each week but I would like to document the year a little better than in the past. I decided I could do it digitally as it's cheaper and more economical and I can just get the 12 x 12 papes printed when I like. Here is my cover page:
Most of the elements come from kits purchased from 'Digital Design Essentials' which have a lovely range of kits, journalling cards, elements etc. They often have freebies and offers if you follow them on FB or Twitter. I really love the clear pockets that give the effect of everything being in pocketed page protectors. I hope to post more pages as and when I've completed them. Are you doing Project Life? Or do you have another way of documenting your weeks and months during the year? Let me know!

Much excitement here with a big snowfall during the early hours of Friday morning, which led to the children's school's being shut so a snow day for us! We were out at 9.30am and walked to the nearest hilly spot and did some sledging, playing and just enjoyed the snow, which was still falling hard and heavy! We did a lot of glove changing, hot choc drinking and snack eating. It was fun, the kids did well, didn't get too cold and enjoyed themselves.
The weekend was still full of snowy adventures, a trip to another nearby hillside which by this time was quite muddy, but still enjoyable enough. We built more snowmen, walked through a snowy field and started an igloo in the garden. On Sunday morning we helped clear snow from the infants school in readiness for Monday, love to see the children getting involved in opportunities to help others.
It's now Monday morning, everyone in school and the roads are clear. The walk to school was slippy but we got there in one piece. There is rumblings of another snowfall for Tuesday but we'll wait and see. At the moment the sun is peeping out and a little blue sky can be seen amongst the clouds. It's still strange to look outside and see all the snow. It makes everything brighter.
I'll post some pics later....

2013 is here!
This is how we spent the first day of this new year, out in the sunshine, with a blue sky after many days of dreary wet weather it was a good start! I love the new year and all it promises, even if January is usually a tough month to get through. I haven't made any big resolutions but hope to be back here with crafty things and photos and bit from my life! Hope you will join me.
